Sam Catchpole – Drums

Sam has been teaching at TW Music School since 2016, he teaches on Tuesdays and regularly covers when other teachers are away. He enjoys finding out about the musical interests of each of his students, and adapts his style of teaching with these interests in mind to help them progress and enjoy playing the drums.

Sam is a creatively minded drummer. Having completed a degree in Popular Music at Goldsmiths University, Sam now teaches at various schools in the South East and London, and is also a Samba drumming workshop leader.

Alongside his teaching, Sam works as a session musician including work for artists signed to Universal Publishing and 4AD. Sam is currently playing for Pixx, with European and American headline tours over the past year. His performance experience includes festivals such as Latitude, Green Man and Live at Leeds, as well as venues such as the The Roundhouse and The Brighton Dome and Troxy.

“I’m really enjoying the lessons, I was able to fit in some good practice last week and the exercises Sam has given me have been challenging but with practice I’ve got it. Also, he talked me through my grip on the first lesson and through focusing on that we could both see a difference in it this week” – Kevin (student)
