Jason West – Band classes & Production

Jason started singing when he was 6 seconds old and he hasn’t shut up since.

His first (contemporary music) gig, at the tender age of 13 was performed in front of the legendary Sir George Martin (most famous for his heavy involvement with The Beatles earning him the title of the fifth Beatle). Since then Jason has played in many bands both originals and covers. He was signed to Wiiija in the late 80’s. He has played and toured extensively, playing with artists including Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) and John Lodge (The Moody Blues), Slaves, The Skints, Foals and Wolf Alice to name but a few. He has also had the pleasure of playing many festivals from local festivals to Glastonbury.

Jason is a prolific song writer (writing both music and lyrics) having written and recorded well over 100 songs. He has appeared on radio many times including live performances and notably being played by the late great John Peel.

Jason also plays and programs keyboards and drums and he produces and mixes music. He has also sound designed and engineered for many bands. He loves to have a creative and positive effect and works on projects large and small from EDM to Hardcore Punk. He has also been composing for several years from short jingles to orchestral scoring. Working on projects from jingles for E cards to scoring entire productions.

Jason is also an accomplished actor and has been in many productions; from playing Lt. Joseph Cable in South Pacific and Officer Crabtree (The Policeman) in ‘Allo ‘Allo to a vitriolic vulture in pantomime.

Jason currently heads up our band classes, groups sessions and music production courses.

TESTIMONIAL: “Speaking as a sound engineer, the production on this album is a delight and a credit to those involved – it stands head and shoulders above the incoherent slush I am often subjected to. More bands could do with listening to Jason’s work”
