Harriet studied music at the University of East Anglia, focussing on classical vocal performance and contemporary composition alongside her own alt-pop/blues/jazz projects. Since University she has worked as a professional musician with experience singing and playing keys/guitar in styles spanning soul, funk, pop, jazz, blues, folk and classical.
She is currently co-lead singer of 6-piece funk/hip-hop band, Top Cat Collective, lead singer of 8-piece funk band, Funkhaus, and lead singer and synth player of 6-piece jazz/soul band, Kanna. She provides backing vocals and lead guitar for alt/folk artist, Freya Ward, and is currently one of the vocalists for The Paul Dunton Orchestra, alongside her own solo project and other session work.
As a member of London Contemporary Voices Choir, Harriet has provided backing vocals for the likes of Lewis Capaldi on BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge, Hannah Grace for the Lloyds Bank advert 2017, Tom Chaplin (Keane) on BBC’s The One Show and The Graham Norton Show, Deepa Nair Rasiya, Amber Run and Deaf Havana on their 2018 chart reaching album, Rituals. She has also performed in the choir at award winning shows in venues such as Union Chapel and Royal Festival Hall and at festivals such as Wilderness and Secret Garden Party.
Harriet has taught vocals and piano for many years and aims to inspire students to enjoy learning and creating music, by building their confidence and equipping them with the skills they need to progress as a musician.
Harriet teaches at TW Music School on Tuesdays and Sundays.
