Dave Hazlewood – Drums

Dave is the founder of TW Music School and the author of both the Backbone Drums Syllabus and the Drumables book. He studied at London’s prestigious Drumtech Drum school and has studied with some great teachers including the UK’s top drum educator ‘Bob Armstrong’. He only teaches on Wednesdays, but will sometimes be seen around the school covering lessons.

Having started out drumming at the tender age of 6 years old, Dave has dedicated his entire life to music and drumming. Having turned professional in his twenties, Dave has since toured extensively worldwide in places such as the USA, Australia, Columbia, Brazil, Canada and most of Europe to crowds of up to 50,000 people. His passion now is sharing his experience and knowledge onto others that share the love of drums.

Dave has had many career highlights and is proud to have played at festivals such as Download, Sonisphere and Slovakia’s Exit Festival. He has been lucky to play and tour with bands such as Motorhead, Metallica, Rancid and many others, but it’s the people he has met along the way that make the journey so special. Here are a few photos of some of the experiences.

As well as performer and teacher, Dave is also an author and is the creator of both the Backbone Drums syllabus and The Drumables

“When my, then 9 year-old son expressed an interest in learning drums I obviously needed to find him a teacher and without a musical bone in my body, it would be a leap of faith! Eight years on, that interest has been nurtured and developed thanks to the skill, passion and encouragement from Dave and his state-of-the-art facilities at TW Music School” –  Catherine (parent)
